Archives - Class 2 2019-20
Dear Class 2,
What a year it’s been!
We began with I am Warrior which was all about Roman things,
We learnt about battles, went to the museum and banqueted like kings.
After that, we were Master Builders who constructed epic structures,
We learnt about houses from around the world and different cultures.
Then it was Christmas; glitter, nativities and generosity galore,
We enjoyed a well-deserved break before coming back for more.
In the Spring term, we began Hakuna Matata,
It was such fun; it whizzed by in a hazy blur.
Miss Saunders joined us and taught us so much,
We learnt about animals, habitats, adaptation and such.
Forest School with Mel and the gang was endless fun,
Den-building, toasting marshmallows and hot chocolate was number one.
We spent hours and hours learning our lines,
For our Lion King play about a family of felines.
We were confused and worried when lockdown came,
But determined, enthusiastic and strong we remained.
Soon after, Purple Mash came into our lives,
It was great to be in touch and with our learning we thrived.
We started Scrumdiddlyumptious which was all about food,
We were artists, scientists, advertisers and mathematicians too.
Mrs Wahid became a YouTuber much to her dismay,
Mrs Shortman, the living legend, helped us at school every day.
In the strangest of times, things occurred that nobody expected,
Still, we became more thoughtful, kinder and better connected.
Thank you so much for a wonderful year. I have loved teaching you and watching you grow over the last few months. Have a wonderful summer; I look forward to seeing you all in September.
Usually, I end the school year by giving hugs and a parting gift but this year is a little different. I am sending you a virtual hug and I have put together a video of our memories from the year and your thoughts on what it means to be a member of Class 2. I hope you enjoy it!
