School Celebrates 50 Years at Cratlands Close

A day of memories, music, and community spirit marked a special milestone for the school on Friday 22nd May 2026, as pupils, families, former staff, and local residents came together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the school's move to its Cratlands Close site.
The golden anniversary event brought together generations of people connected to the school, creating a wonderful atmosphere of celebration and reflection. Current pupils delighted visitors with traditional singing and maypole dancing, showcasing their talents and helping to create lasting memories for everyone in attendance.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to look back on five decades of school life. Former pupils, staff members, and local residents shared stories of their time at the school, recalling cherished memories and highlighting the important role the school has played within the community since 1976.
A special exhibition of historical photographs, documents, and memorabilia proved particularly popular with visitors. The school extended its thanks to local residents and former members of the school community who generously contributed items, allowing guests to explore the rich history of the site and celebrate its legacy.
The 50th anniversary was not only a chance to honour the past but also to look ahead with optimism. As the celebrations drew to a close, the message was clear: while much has changed over the past five decades, the strong sense of community at the heart of the school remains as vibrant as ever.
Here's to the next 50 years.
