Ladybird Class
Welcome to Stadhampton Ladybird Class!
We value the importance of building strong foundations for future learning, and our provision for Reception and Year 1 children reflects this. Our high-quality teaching, rich learning environment and broad, engaging curriculum enable pupils to thrive. The curriculum is designed to provide balanced and challenging experiences for all. Knowledge and skills are taught from the beginning to ensure the best start, and enable excellent progress throughout their school life.
Reception
The prime areas are a focus to ignite curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, and for building a strong capacity to learn, as well as to form relationships.
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
The prime areas are strengthened and applied through four specific areas including:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Year 1
This is an exciting year where children build on what they learnt in Reception and become more confident, independent learners. They develop their reading, writing, and maths skills through fun, engaging activities, while also exploring subjects such as science, history, geography, art, DT, music, computing, and physical education.
Year 1 encourages children to ask questions, solve problems, work with others, and develop their creativity. Learning takes place through a balance of practical activities, play-based experiences, and structured lessons, helping every child grow in confidence and enjoy discovering new things.
On our class pages you will find pictures, letters and documents. These will help you see what we are learning and tell you about some of the things we have been doing.
