Dragonflies

Mhairi Ferguson

I joined Stadhampton Primary in September as a class teacher in Year 1/2. Prior to this, most of my teaching career has taken place in Scotland, both in Aberdeen and in Edinburgh. I moved to Oxfordshire in January 2022 and worked in a specialist education setting, gaining experience and understanding of children and young adults with a range of communication needs. Like all teachers, I enjoy supporting children academically, but I find so much joy supporting children with their overall wellbeing, including the development of confidence, self-esteem and a sense of agency.

When not in school, I spend most of my free time ‘running about’ and training with Abingdon Athletic Club. My favourite season is cross country; being from Scotland, I am not phased by the rain, wind or mud!

Teresa Godall

Born and raised in Spain, I have had a passion for languages from a very early age and graduated from the University of Barcelona with a degree in English and a teacher-training qualification to teach English at Spanish secondary-school level.

I was delighted to join Stadhampton Primary School in 2018, with its wonderful children and nurturing members of staff, after having worked in the translation sector for many years and having taught Spanish both privately and for the county council.

I enjoy reading, going to the cinema and the theatre, relaxing with my embroidery, cooking and spending time with my family and friends. I absolutely love the outdoors and I walk, run or cycle most days; I have also hiked up Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike and have cycled the length of Devon and even to Holland! I find visiting new places, getting immersed in different cultures and learning about what the world and its people have to offer truly exhilarating.
